Vehicle
History is a powerful function used to locate previous invoices
written to any vehicle on file. G-E has a unique history search
utility which quickly locates the exact invoice you wish to view.
The Vehicle History function is available from many places throughout
the software.
To perform a history search for a vehicle,
select Vehicle
from
the Main Menu. Select Vehicle History
from
the drop down menu. Alternatively, press the Ctrl+H
keys
from the Main Menu to go directly to the vehicle search listing.
Using the vehicle
listing that
is displayed, select the vehicle for which the history search is
to be performed. G-E presents the Search
Text dialogue.
Type
the text into the search box that you wish G-E to search for and
click Ok
or
press Enter. G-E presents the list of invoices containing the search
text in the Vehicle
Service History
dialogue. All other invoices to the vehicle are not shown. This
reduces the size of the list dramatically to start.
The
presented list shows the date of each invoice, the invoice number,
the total cost of the invoice and the invoice description. Also
shown are two columns "Text" and "Part". If
the search text is found in the invoice text, a small "x"
is shown in the Text column. If the search text is found in the
invoice parts listing, a small "x"
is shown in the Part column.
Highlight the entry of interest
and click View Invoice
to
view the invoice. Alternatively, highlight the entry and press Enter,
press Alt+V
or
double click the entry to view the invoice.
If the search
text is not found, G-E returns a message to this effect and offers
the opportunity to enter a new search. If no text is entered for
the search (the search text dialogue is left blank), G-E returns
all invoices written for the vehicle. The Search Text
control
presents the search text dialogue for a new text entry.
The
History function is best explained with a demonstration, so
we will cheat a little here and take you to the sites Images section
where a comprehensive Vehicle History Demonstration is
already prepared.
